Cryptocurrencies and Decentralization with blockchain technology are relatively new things and they threaten centralized powers and institutions. So you shouldn’t be surprised that the mainstream media doesn’t always cover them fairly and that there aren’t many new and independent media outlets yet to fill this void. But even now, we do have [mostly] fair and accurate cryptocurrency news sources and good blogs that you can depend on. If you want to get know some of them, here’s a short list:

1. CoinDesk

It was founded back in 2013 and since then, it’s been growing steadily to become a trusted source for everything crypto. It’s as close to a traditional media outlet as you can get in this sphere. You can get your crypto news, opinion pieces, podcasts, videos, educational content and more on their website. So go check it out.

2. CoinTelegraph

Everything I said about CoinDesk, I can also say about CoinTelegraph. It was also founded in 2013 and it is also trying to be your number one stop for everything crypto. They both have great teams and great content. So it’s up to you to choose between the two, if you want a big news source with lots of different content that is.

3. Decrypt

The content output here is lower compared to the first two titles on the list. But Decrypt, founded in 2018, can also be a great resource for anyone who wants to learn and stay informed about the decentralized web and everything that comes with it.

4. Blockchain News

Another good option to get your crypto news fix is Blockchain New. Its goal is to be a “reliable source of information that is most relevant” to readers. But I’ll be honest, I don’t like the look and feel of their website compared to some other options. The content isn’t bad though.

5. NewsBTC

One other news site / blog that’s been around for a relatively long time is NewsBTC. Launched in 2013, it covers “bitcoin news today, technical analysis & forecasts for bitcoin price and other altcoins”.

6. Bitcoin Magazine

Everything you expect from a site for bitcoin lovers, by bitcoin lovers. This is as close as you can get to a bitcoin maximalist view without actually selling everything you own to buy bitcoin.

7. CoinMarketCap

It is mainly a one-stop source to check any cryptocurrency’s price. But it has started to put out some news and content of its own. And even if you don’t like their “daily news” and “deep dive”s, you can go to your favorice coin/token’s page and see some related news and articles at the end of that page. It works like a news aggregator for any cryptocurrency.

You can go to any of these websites or even some of their alternatives to get your blockchain and cryptocurrency news. But for awesome opinion pieces and real analysis that is relatable to ordinary people’s lives, I would recommend an independent blog.
